I can house 28 dogs at the time. The kennel construction was designed in such a manner that the roof extends half way over each kennel. This affords the dogs sunlight and shade at all times of the day. For cleanliness and safety, the houses are of concrete block construction. Also, the flooring is smooth concrete allowing for easy and quick washdown, which runs into guttering on both sides and into the septic tank. All of this was designed with the health of the dogs in mind. With a large walkway between each row of fourteen kennels, dogs can be removed and handled in the safest manner possible.
Everyone knows that the summer heat in the Sandhills can be extreme. Therefore, a misting system is in place for the entire kennel. This ensures that the dogs will not overheat, even in the shade.
